It's been a while since I wrote a journal update, last year held an epic spring, summer and fall of exploring and photography. Every winter, with the descending blanket of bleak, grey tones and sub-zero temperatures kind of puts a damper on the exploring for me. So I stick a little closer to home, temperatures permitting I may photograph a waterfall or two, but no big explores to speak of.
Recently I needed to clean house and free up some hard drive space and back-up some files for safe keeping. I noticed a lot of shots from a lot of places that I passed over, didn't process and certainly didn't post. Looking at them now versus a few months ago or in some cases a few years ago, I thought to myself...I could probably process these passed up files and come up with a half way decent image if I tried.
So I tried. Lately I have become infatuated with the monochrome, so I processed a lot of these as black & whites or some subtle split-toned monochrome type images. I have been posting them in a couple folders: Left-Overs 2012 ([link]
) and Flash Back Photos ([link]
So as I peruse these older files, process and post them I will add them to these 2 files. Some you have seen before, or a least a similar version, some will be brand new takes from images from the cutting room floor, in a matter of speaking. Hope you like them.
Already planning and plotting for 2013.
